sosilverbright: (and how's that going for you?)
In her canon, Bertie has a magical Scrimshaw that she wears around her neck that, while it keeps her own powers in check and not letting however she sees things become reality, but it also lets her see what's "under the mask" so to speak of someone who may be withholding information from her if she holds on to it and concentrates. The other person isn't usually aware this is happening, and what she sees depends on the person and their feelings.

Taking from the book, during a moment of anger and hatred from the character she sees:

"His form wavered: one second he was a great winged creature with glowing eyes and claws bared, the next no more than a breeze stirring the leaves. Then he was as he'd always been: terrifying and beautiful all at once."

And another at a time earlier:

"Bone-magic seeped into her as though on an incoming tide, filling her with foam and insight. Peering at Nate, she saw the insecurities that gnawed at his innards and fell out of his pockets like scuttling crabs."

It can take any form really, and of course if characters have something to hide their mind/thoughts from those who ca read minds, she won't see anything but a fog, likely. So! What I need here is what Bertie would see based upon basic emotions and feelings if anything, and how much of that emotion/feeling she would see if she really concentrated. Just as long as people are descriptive on to what their characters are feeling so I can make decent guesses while referencing this permissions post would be fab. ♥
